About Us
India Bazaar is a family-owned and operated business that has been serving the Albany community since 1995. It was founded by Mathew, who recognized the growing Indian community in the Albany area and their need for authentic Indian spices and groceries.
Before India Bazaar opened its doors, the local Indian community had limited options. There was only a small Indian store with a restricted selection, forcing many residents to make long trips to Queens every few months to stock up on essential Indian groceries.
With the support and encouragement of friends and family, Mathew took a leap of faith to establish India Bazaar. His vision was to create a one-stop shop for the Indian community, eliminating the need for those long journeys.
What sets India Bazaar apart is Mathew's deep understanding of his clientele and his commitment to meeting their needs. The store offers fresh vegetables and fruits, a wide variety of spices, and special items for various Indian religious and cultural celebrations such as Holi and Diwali.
Over the years, India Bazaar has expanded its offerings and store size to better serve the community. Today, we're proud to also supply products to local Indian restaurants and temples, becoming an integral part of the growing Indian culture in Albany.
